Conor Beresford is PocketFives Online Player of the Year

2020 was a unique year in online poker history, unlike any other years before. Because of coronavirus pandemic, which continues to this day (almost 94 million cases were recorded according to the latest data), many poker players were forced to switch from offline to online. Hence the competition in online cash and MTT games became even tougher so to get on top of various ratings by the end of the year, one has to try really hard. 

 

According to respectable resource PokerFives, Conor Beresford from Britain is the best online MTT player of 2020. The regular mostly plays on PokerStars under the nickname “1_conor_b_1”. It is noteworthy that in 2019 Conor was also was #1 in the best online players list. 

 

Over the past year Conor has 6 six-digit prizes including top high-roller events: WCOOP on PokerStars ($162,5k prize money), GGSeries on GGPokerOK ($611k prize money) and POWERFEST on PartyPoker ($70,5k prize money). These three victories along brought Beresford around $844k, and his career total winnings are around $15 million.

 

The second best MTT player of 2020 is Bruno «bbotteon» Botteon from Brazil. He also had a lot of success in 2020, but his biggest achievement is 2nd place in the international WSOP Main Event. In the finals he lost to another player from South America, Damian Salas from Argentina. Runner-up received an impressive amount of $1,062,723. Second biggest prize of the year for Bruno was $25k for 6th place in WSOP 2020 NLH Players Championship. Throughout his whole career “bbotteon” earned nearly $4 million.

It is noteworthy that as of early 2021, Bruno Botteon tops the PocketFives online MTT rankings, while the reigning champion Conor Beresford is only #6.
